English Language Teaching Course

Erasmus+ Eligible

Five days in Benalmádena, Spain — modern English-teaching methodology, mixed-level lesson design, and digital tools you'll actually use.

Why this course? English teaching has moved on. Communicative methodology, digital tools, mixed-level rooms, and authentic-materials work are now the baseline — not the cutting edge. Whether you’re in your first year teaching English or your twentieth, your toolkit needs a refresh roughly every five years, and your own English fluency benefits from a week away in a country that speaks something else.

What it covers. Communicative language teaching, mixed-level lesson design, classroom management for language groups, and digital tools that actually fit language pedagogy — not the trendy ones, the useful ones. Cohorts capped at 10. English-medium throughout. Hosted on our campus inside Benalmádena International College, a ten-minute walk from the Mediterranean.

How it works. Mornings: methodology and your own English fluency, sharpened by use. Afternoons: hands-on lesson-design workshops where you adapt materials, build mixed-level lessons, and integrate tech into existing plans. Friday is mock-lesson day — you teach, peers and tutors give honest feedback, you adjust before delivering it for real.

What You Will Gain

Erasmus+ certified CPD

Course completion certificate accepted as continuing professional development by school authorities across the EU.

Classroom-ready takeaways

Every session ends with a worksheet, plan, or activity teachers can use the week they return — not a binder of theory.

English fluency through immersion

Mornings in class, afternoons using the language with hosts, shopkeepers, and trip guides — the gap between learning English and using it closes fast.

Real-world English in context

Vocabulary, grammar, and discourse practiced where they actually appear — ordering food, asking directions, presenting work, holding an opinion in a debate.

Mixed-level lesson design fluency

Practical strategies for designing one lesson that works across A2 to B2 learners in the same room — tested through workshop iterations and peer feedback.

Digital tools for the language classroom

Apps, platforms, and blended-learning patterns selected for fit with language pedagogy — implemented in your own lesson plans during the week.

Example Schedule

Monday

Morning: principles of effective second-language teaching, language acquisition theories, and communicative language teaching strategies. Afternoon: workshop building motivating lesson plans, then pair planning to refine structures with peer input.

Tuesday

Morning: adapting materials for different proficiency levels, using authentic resources, and teaching grammar and vocabulary in context. Afternoon: workshop designing lessons for mixed-level classes, then transforming existing materials into stronger teaching tools.

Wednesday

Morning: integrating digital tools, interactive apps for student engagement, and setting up a blended-learning environment. Afternoon: hands-on session designing lessons with digital tools, then applying technology to existing lesson plans.

Thursday

Morning: classroom-management techniques for language teachers, managing multilingual and mixed-level classrooms, and encouraging active participation. Afternoon: case-study analysis of common classroom challenges and peer exchange of management strategies.

Friday

Morning: deliver your lesson plan in a mock session, receive tutor and peer feedback, refine your approach. Afternoon: reflection on common classroom challenges, Q&A, and EUTA certification.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the English Language Teaching course for?

English language teachers at any stage of the road — first-year ESL/EFL teachers, twenty-year veterans, and everyone in between. B1 English is the floor; the workshops adapt to whoever’s in the room.

How is this different from a TEFL or CELTA certificate?

This is continuing professional development (CPD), not an entry-level teaching qualification. TEFL and CELTA are for people becoming English teachers; this course is for teachers already in the classroom who want updated methodology, fresh materials, and stronger English fluency. The 30-hour completion certificate is recognised as CPD by school authorities, not as a teaching licence.

What teaching methodology does the course follow?

The course centres on communicative language teaching — student-centred, real-world tasks, and grammar in context. Sessions also cover digital tools, mixed-level lesson design, and authentic-materials work, so you leave with a multi-method toolkit rather than a single approach.

Will I leave with materials I can use in my classroom?

Yes. The week is structured around building lesson plans, adapting materials, and designing technology-enriched activities — all of which you take home in usable form. Friday mock lessons give you tutor feedback before delivering them at school.

Is this course eligible for Erasmus+ KA-122 funding?

Yes. The course meets Erasmus+ KA-122 requirements, and we provide the documentation your school needs for the grant application — course description, Learning Agreement, daily programme, and invitation letter. Read the full Erasmus+ for teachers walkthrough →

Where will I stay during the course week?
