Frequently Asked Questions

What is European Trainee Academy?
European Trainee Academy is the Spanish partner that European schools, teachers, and educational organisations turn to when they want to train, learn, and bring groups to the Mediterranean. We’ve welcomed participants from across the continent for many years, working from a gated campus inside Benalmádena International College on the Costa del Sol. Whether your school books through Erasmus+ or pays directly, we handle the curriculum, the accommodation, the meals, the transfers, and the documentation. More about EUTA.
What is Erasmus+ and how does it fund teacher training?
Erasmus+ is the European Union’s programme for education, training, youth, and sport. Under Key Action 1 — Staff Mobility (KA-122 and KA-121) — individual teachers and school staff can apply for grants that contribute to course fees, travel, accommodation, and daily subsistence for professional development abroad. EUTA’s courses are eligible under both KA-122 and KA-121. See the full programme guide at erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu.
Where are the courses held?
All EUTA courses and programmes take place in Benalmádena, on the Costa del Sol in southern Spain. The campus sits in the Nueva Torrequebrada area, walking distance from the Mediterranean and twenty minutes by train from Málaga’s historic centre. About the destination | About the campus.
Who can attend EUTA courses?
Teacher training courses are open to teachers, trainers, and school staff working in any EU or Erasmus+ programme country. School student programmes are designed for schools organising student mobilities (KA-122 short-term or KA-121 accredited annual) for learners aged 12–19. Youth exchanges (KA-152) are a separate non-formal track for youth organisations and schools acting as youth orgs, with participants aged 13–30. Teacher courses | Student programmes.
Is accommodation included?
Teacher courses offer two booking options: course-only or course with accommodation at Flatotel International, a few minutes from the campus. Student group programmes always include accommodation as part of the fully managed week — meals, supervision, and transport included. Full accommodation details.
What certificates will I receive?
Every participant receives an EUTA Certificate of Completion, a Certificate of Attendance, and a Europass Mobility document. These are recognised across Europe and meet Erasmus+ reporting requirements. EUTA also provides Learning Agreements and daily programme records for the school’s grant application. About Europass at europa.eu/europass.
